Roommates Reunited

        

 

    Okay, so I have a confession to make. One of the things I was most afraid of coming into this last year of school was not having any of my girlfriends left to talk too. A lot of my friends graduated last year so my first few days on campus were admittedly lonely. That was until I remembered that my old roommate who I became really close to was on campus too!

    Before I get into the reunion, you’ll need some backstory. I don’t know about you, but when I had to have my first roommate my Junior year of college with someone I had only known for less than a year, I was nervous.  Although we were friends that doesn’t mean we would have been compatible roommates. Who would've thought that throughout the year the memories that we made would create an even stronger bond today. As roommates, the best memories I carried with me were how she would play the same comfort Disney movies over and over and over again. It may sound like that could get annoying but it turned out to be something we still laugh about. There was something about the familiarity of repeating the same comfort movies that make our little dorm room feel like home. We ended up never having any major fights and it felt like I had a sister 2 hours away from my home at ONU. 

This school year, we may no longer be roommates, but we are still as close as ever. Us reaching out to each other at the beginning of the school was the best decision. We had previously got caught up in our busy lives and weren’t talking as often as we used to. But this past week we finally reunited and picked right back off where we left off. Watching the same movies we’ve both seen a thousand times well reviewing our homework. This has turned into daily snapchats and setting up weekly movie nights. We spend hours just debriefing everything that is going on in our lives and how we are going to push through this semester. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with reuniting with my former roommate/best friend and I can’t wait for all of our wild adventures that will take place over the rest of the year.
