Social Media Issues and Podcasting

This past week I've been given the opportunity to create a podcast with my old friend Allie Harper. Allie is an alumni of Ohio Northern and is one of my close friends even since her graduation. She has started up her own small business and has had the opportunity to work with social media on a professional level. I wanted to touch on the issues that surround social media as well as the positives that come from using it. During this 5 minute podcast the questions we went over where: 


  1. What is your target market and how does your social media appeal to that?

  2. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had when working with social media ?

  3. What message do you want people to receive when they come across your social media platforms?

  4. Keeping up with current trends can be overwhelming when using social media. How has this been a challenge for you?

  5. Between your professional and personal accounts has keeping up with consistent posting been difficult for you?

  6. How has being on social media helped your business?

  7. What is the most unique discovery being on social media?


Going through these questions allowed Allie to talk about how her professional experience on social media has changed her business. Since she is a good friend of mine and my sorority sister, taking the opportunity to catch up was definitely a highlight of my week. It’s so inspiring to see your friends take the leap and work towards their dreams and passions. I couldn’t be more grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from someone like her.
