Fall break has come to an end and I feel so ready to take on the rest of the year. Sometimes all I really need is some R&R. I wanted to get ahead on all of my schoolwork so I could take this time to rest and refocus with my family. So, let me take you through what my fall break looked like.
First, I wanted to take a day to do self care and just relax so Saturday, that’s exactly what I did. I started with doing my own nails well by watching Gossip Girl for the second time. It’s a tedious process but so worth it in the end. Then I decided to do my extensive hair care routine which consists of shampooing twice, a hair mask instead of conditioner, a scalp serum, heat protectant, and lastly hair oil. There’s something about taking time for yourself that really helps give an extra boost to your mood. Lastly, I finished my self care routine by doing a facemask and watching a movie.
On Sunday, I was feeling amazing after the relaxing day I had the day before. So I decided to go through all of the clothes I brought back home and organized everything. I wanted my room to be clean for the next time I come back home so by putting everything away I took away that stress for myself in the future. Sunday wasn’t exactly glamorous to say the least but I felt really good getting all of my chores done and out of the way.
Monday and Tuesday were the last days I had to relax so I just spent them with my family. We went on walks around the neighborhood and made dinners together. My mom and I even had a chance to go shopping together for new fall decor. Not like we needed anything but that has never stopped us before. I ended up finding some cute fake pumpkins to put up in my apartment. Overall, fall break was exactly what I needed to be refreshed and ready to go for Wednesday’s classes. Now I just have to hold on until Thanksgiving comes around!
I feel the same way! Over fall break I still had to work, but you best believe I relaxed as much as I was able. I probably laid in bed all Monday morning but honestly after the past couple days I had, I know I needed that. I may not feel completely refreshed for the rest of this week, but that’s ok! I’m recharged just enough for the week, I just have to make it until Saturday!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good break! I always love having self-care days too. It's so refreshing, especially when you know you are going to be busy coming up. And shopping for fall decor is a must, whether you need it or not!
ReplyDeleteI just started my Gossip Girl rewatch, too! I'm so glad you got to spend some time with your family. I didn't go home for break and I regret it slightly because I really miss my parents. I definitely need to find time this week for a self-care day. Life feels so busy right now but we all need one every once in a while. I'm sure Thanksgiving break will come up sooner than we know it!
