It may be early for most people to think about Christmas, but I’m not most people. One of my favorite things is planning out the gifts I’m getting for my family and friends. This is a task I take very seriously so I make sure to start extra early to get prepared. Here’s the step-by-step guide I use every year to get the perfect gifts:
1. Brainstorming: In case you were wondering, I am already done with this step. I sit down and list everyone I want to get a gift for and go back and forth with what I want to get them. Throughout the year I listen to when the important people I want have a problem and try to get gifts that will fix whatever bothers them. For example, my mom doesn’t have enough space in her purse so I found a bigger one from the same brand she gets them from. Paying attention to the little things makes all the difference.
2. Finding Wrapping Paper: This may seem extra, but I use my own special wrapping paper, bows, and name tags each year. I have a different theme every year so I love to go on Pinterest to get inspiration for what I want to wrap my gifts with.
3. Early Online Shopping: A lot of stuff sells out closer to the holidays so by ordering gifts early, you can make sure you get exactly what you want. It’s important to note that by the time I am out of school to shop more in person, it's already the weekend before Christmas. By ordering online for everything I can, I’m limiting the amount of stress I’ll have when I get home for winter break.
4. Wrapping: I love to add special little touches every year when I pick out my wrapping theme. When I put the gifts I’m giving under the tree you know they’re from me just from the attention to detail I put into making sure every gift is wrapping the same.
I’m so excited and grateful to be able to try and make the holiday season special in any way that I can. I would love help on gift wrapping themes this year as I still have no idea what I’m going to do. Even though it seems so far away it also feels like it’s just around the corner.
I love gift-giving so much. It is my favorite way to show my love to my friends and family. I take pretty much the exact same steps as you do. I definitely find the brainstorming step to be the hardest. A lot of my friends are very cryptic with what they want, so I always have to get creative. I just love the look on people's faces when opening a gift, so it makes all the work worth it.
ReplyDeleteYour gift-giving strategy is impressive! I like how you’re tuned in to what your family and friends actually need, and the custom wrapping themes sound awesome. Vintage or nature-inspired wrapping could be a cool look this year!
ReplyDeleteI also start planning for and buying gifts very early! I have already bought several Christmas gifts for some of my friends. I love gift-giving because I always pay attention to little things that people mention, so that makes it easier to buy gifts for people. I love that you have your own process for gift-giving, it really shows how much you care for people!
