Marketing With LinkedIn

I’ve been using LinkedIn since I joined the business college at Ohio Northern University as a tool to apply for jobs, review companies I’m interested in, and create a professional network. LinkedIn being the most trusted social media platform doesn’t surprise me because the site is made to be a professional resource. Overall, as a Marketing major, I personally use the platform as a way to create my personal brand in the professional world. The different types of pages have been helpful depending on what I’m on the social media site for.

The company pages are helpful when it comes to learning about the company as a whole. I have always used it to help me figure out where I want to work once I graduate. It’s been a great place to get a feel for the companies I’m interested in applying for. I also find it helpful that the site added a newer feature allowing for communication between companies and users. Another page that some companies have are product pages. Since becoming a LinkedIn user, I have never even come across a product and don’t fully understand the point. Product pages have pictures of the company's products with descriptions to hopefully utilize the professional network and generate leads. However, the part that confuses me is why that same network would also be used for consumer reviews. My favorite pages are the career pages. Companies highlight their job opportunities on these pages to help find the best fit for their company. I found my summer internship on these pages and could apply straight from the platform.

All in all, I think that marketing with LinkedIn is a great tool for companies to further promote themselves on a professional level. By having different types of pages for different uses, you can easily find what you’re looking for when using the site. Overall, LinkedIn is a great tool that benefits companies and users.
