Week Before Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break is almost here and it couldn’t come soon enough. To have the week off of school right before the end of the semester definitely doesn’t come for free. I’m still trying to battle getting over my sickness while barely getting any rest due to my class schedule. This has personally been the hardest week of the semester so far for me and I still have more to do over break. Worst of all, I had to cut off my daily intake of caffeine to help me stay more hydrated to get over being sick.

For starters, my week of chaos began with realizing that I have to read an entire book and complete part of my group presentation by the end of the break. I like the book and this alone wouldn’t cause me any stress but on top of that, I competed in the Polar Pitch competition for a different class. This had to take precedence over everything because it was coming up first. Of course, the Polar Pitch day just so happened to fall the day before a huge exam in my hardest class. In between balancing all of that, I also had mandatory capstone meetings and found out that the due date for our final deliverable had been moved up and had to be condensed. Now that the week is coming to an end I am doing my best to breathe and understand that no matter how this exam ends up going, I will be okay.

Overall, in this blog, I am talking about a lot of moving parts going on all at the same time. I know that writing all of this may be a lot to read about but I needed to just rant about how impossible it can feel sometimes about having everything thrown at you all at once at the worst time. I hope someone can relate and understand that no matter how bad a project turns out or how you do on an exam, it is not the end of the world. Let’s try to finish out this semester strong and carry ourselves with grace.

  1. I totally feel the hectic week right before the break. Sometimes I feel like all the professors think we have a slow week so they end up giving us extra work lol. I felt like I was drowning in things to do. I hardly had to time to pack or even think about break until I was already in my car heading home. I definitely relate and also need to just rant sometimes. I hope your break was good!
